Tibetan spirit of unity and non-violence wins hearts in Ahmedabad
Speaking on the concluding day of the Tibetan festival for non-violence, Geshe Lhakdor, director of Library of Tibetan Works and Archives, explained the similarities between science and Buddhism. He said, “Buddhism and science compliment each other. Buddhism can provide the ethical basis for science community. “Science was open to enunciation of better theories and was not limited within the peripheries of nations” he added, Underlining the need for an individual to think of spiritual development rather tilting towards accrual of material benefits, he said, “Through science, we can meet some of our physical necessities. However, to what extend we are happier and more peaceful can only be gauged through spiritual introspection. And we are busy only with the external construction, thus ignoring the inner physical construction.”
On exploring the inner reality, Geshe Lhakdor said, “How many of us are exploring inner reality? The essence to living good lies in positive outlook towards life. And Buddhism exemplifies this positive aspect as it is a way of life that is in harmony with law of nature.”
